Preventing Sexual Abuse
Keeping children safe in foster care requires that primary caregivers recognize the phases of sexual abuse and recognize the characteristics of sexual abuse.  This presentation emphasizes how to teach children about appropriate sexual behavior and presents clear indicators of inappropriate sexual behavior in children. Participants will be better equipped to prevent sexual abuse from occurring in foster homes or cottages.

Interventions for Sexually Offending Children & Adolescents

 

Based on the most recent research, this seminar will provide information about prevention and intervention strategies for sexually offending children and adolescents. Emphasis will be placed on understanding and responding to sexual behavior of children, appropriate supervision of children who sexually offend, and the role of therapeutic care giving in the treatment of sexually offending children and adolescents.

Dr. Robinson has 15 years of experience working with sexually abused children and adolescents. The illustrations, activities, and case studies utilized in this presentation help participants understand the cycle of abuse and how it impacts foster children and adopted children.
